AUBURN, Ala.- The cities of Auburn and Opelika have been nationally recognized as one of the Top 10 Small Metros for Best Business Climate, according to Business Facilities Magazine's 21st Annual Metro Rankings Report.

In its ranking, Business Facilities Magazine considers the Milken Institute's Best Performing Cities Index report, in addition to assessing each city's job growth, labor availability and tax rates. Representing a broad look at the business environment for companies in many industries, this report keeps economic growth, regulations, incentives, diversity of industry, available workforce and infrastructure at the forefront.

In fiscal year 2025, the City of Auburn announced nine company expansions, two new installations and $490 million in total new investment.
